Central Maine Moving and Storage (CMMS) is a provider of local and national relocation services, asset management, and storage solutions. CMMS currently has an opening for an Operations Manager, which is a critical leadership role responsible for overall business performance spanning service, safety, capability and profitability. The Operations Manager will provide hands-on, visible leadership to all CMMS employees by effectively planning operations for success, instilling a safety culture and establishing a ‘service first’ mindset. This leader will ensure that CMMS crews are staffed, trained and scheduled effectively, vehicles are procured and maintained appropriately to support operational requirements, and North American Van Line standards and government operating guidelines are strictly enforced. This leadership position is based at the CMMS headquarters office in Bangor, Maine.

Oversees the Hiring, Training and Performance of all crew and staff members employed to handle shipping, receiving, storage, order fulfillment and customer service duties for a full-service relocation and storage company.
Actively manages, schedules and dispatches moving crews locally and nationally, providing oversight to ensure that all necessary labor, materials, and equipment arrive at each job site in a timely manner;
Upholds and enforces company standards and policies related to performance, attendance, professional appearance and personal hygiene;
Performs frequent customer engagement to ensure high satisfaction with CMMS services;
Responsible for the maintenance of all fleet vehicles and equipment used for CMMS services;
Maintains efficient workflow, manages inventory, security, and safety compliance;
Drives process improvement to promote operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase profitability;
Oversees timely and accurate customer billing, oversees payroll tracking and verification;
Implements operational guidelines and hauling requirements of North American Van Lines, along with compliance to government regulations and military standards;
Travel as required – Inspecting job sites, meeting with customers and vendors, attending industry-specific training/conferences;
Must positively represent the company in areas of personal character, professional appearance, commitment, organizational skills, and work habits.

Experience Requirements:
• Associates Degree and appropriate experience is desired.
• 8 years of experience in transportation, moving, and/or warehousing industries strongly preferred.
• 4 years of operations leadership experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are critical.
• Household and corporate moving and storage experience is desired.
• Understanding of and compliance with Department of Transportation safety policies and procedures;
• Experience with Microsoft 365 software solutions, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Must be able to perform to standards without constant or immediate supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
